Infusion Therapy and You, is an ideal resource that has been designed for the patient leaving the hospital with a catheter in place. It is available in two parts: a Workbook and a Work Mat. The Workbook describes in simple, easy-to-understand language the how-tos for catheter care and maintenance such as recognizing problems, how to set up an infusion, how to safely store supplies, and how to dispose of used equipment. It includes a note-taking area and a section where the nurse can re-enforce infusion prescription information. The Work Mat is made with a laminated surface which allows for personalization of infusion-specific prescriptions and procedures such as dressing changes, and flushing of an intermittent device. It can be easily posted on a wall or refrigerator, or laid out on a counter or other flat surface. A dry-erase marker is included. The Mat complements the Infusion Therapy and You Workbook but can also stand alone.
